I wear PINK for my MOM

It has been such a fantastic weekend, and what better way to wrap it up - cupcakes! Kaitlynn and I have been moving and grooving in the kitchen making cupcakes for the bake sale tomorrow in which the volleyball team is raising money for breast cancer research. I have never been much of a baker, but the cause means so much to me now. It is nearly a year ago that my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. I don't know a better way to honor her but to wear pink, raise money for a cure, and eat cupcakes. Hope you enjoy.
Now, on to the rice krispy treats. But first, I would like to share with you a little project that I worked on this morning for Mallory's birthday party. Her birthday is on Halloween and it is a given that we would celebrate Halloween style, but she threw me for a loop this year. She wanted to go play laser tag instead. Well, this is what I have come up with (I had to add googly eyes for a little spook). Hope you enjoy.

Just another card

Decided to make a thank you card for a teacher that helped us out today. I heard that her classroom is decorated in frogs so I hope she likes this.

Everything Volleyball

Volleyball has taken over this house! I do believe I am seeing volleyballs in my sleep. My oldest daughter, Kaitlynn, has made her school's volleyball team, and I have just had a "ball" making signs to wave in the stands to support the team. Here are a few projects that have passed across my art desk thanks to the Sports Mania cartridge. Hope you enjoy.

The last is one of the cute volleyballs that are hanging on each of the girls lockers. They are so proud of them and who doesn't like a little glitter?

Just Us Girls color challenge

Another card for another challenge. Hope you enjoy.

JUG challenge #102

Halloween inspired

Well....it's been awhile since I have had time to sit down and play in my craftroom. We are in full force with school, volleyball, voice lessons, play practice, church choir, and football. I was beginning to think Saturday would never get here. I decided to do some volleyball locker decorations for my daughters team, so that kept me busy for most of the morning and now I am ready for a little challenge. Today I am entering a card in the Card Patterns Sketch 133 Challenge. Hope you enjoy. (Volleyball creations will come later)

Just a little fun....

Started making a couple of cards tonight while thinking of a good friend who has been put on bedrest for the last couple of weeks of her pregnancy. Hoping to brighten up her day a little.

And my daughter asked me to make a card for her teacher so she could apologize for being disrespectful in class today. It is so cute, she wrote an apology note and signed
Sinseriously, Mallory

My Stamp has Arrived

Look at what else was waiting for me when I got home. Now I can personalize my cards. I am super excited!

I got my embossing machine in!

I have been patiently waiting; ok ok, waiting (impatiently) for my Sizzix machine to come in for what seems like weeks, but it was waiting at my front door when I got home. I couldn't wait to open it. I have been playing with it a little this evening and decided to enter a challenge. This is for Sassy Lil Sketches September Week 1 Card Sketch

And this is what I came up with. Remember, this is my first go at embossing.

My second try at embossing will be entered into the Die Cuttin Divas Challenge #31.

Hope you enjoy

Mom is famous in her little town!

My mother has made the newspaper and handcuffs and police chases were not involved!(Just kidding mama). Her mural seems to be the talk of the town. See below:

Her mural is too cool! I can't wait to see it in person. I know the picture is fuzzy, but it is simply talking about the mural she is painting at the 50s diner. You can actually see a clearer picture in my blog, just have to scroll down a bit.

Cool Cat

Evening Y'all,
I was just playing around with one of my new cartridges, Nifty Fifties, and found this Cool Cat. I think he/she looks groovy. I am entering him into the My Craft Spot challenge "Friends are the best" because I think my bestie is one of the coolest people I know. Love ya girl! Friends are the Best

Halloween preparations have begun!

I am officially in my Halloween Mode. It is no secret that we go all out for Halloween as it is my youngest daughter's birthday. I have started playing with my Mini Monsters cartridge trying to find the perfect design for her birthday invitations. I ran across the Clean and Simple Stamping Challenge #156 and decided to give it a try. In looking at all the cards that have been submitted for this challenge, mine is way out there! Their cards are so elegant looking and mine is, well let's just say, it is. Oh well, I'll give it a go anyway. Hope you enjoy.

Cricut Cardz Challenge #90

I had originally entered my s'mores card into this challenge but later realized that I was supposed to use the card feature on the Cricut. Well, now that I know what the cards feature is, I used the only cartridge that has that option, Mini Monsters. Here is my quick creation. Hope you enjoy.

Card Patterns Sketch 131 Challenge

Here is a quick card I made for the Card Patterns Sketch 131 Challenge. It's been awhile since I pulled out my embellishments so I really enjoyed designing this one. Here is the design we were to duplicate.
Below is the card I designed. Hope you enjoy.

Couch Time

I read this post at http://onceuponapaper.blogspot.com about getting at least a few minutes alone with the hubby. It's a great concept (except during football games, basketball games or golf, non of which I am a fan of). Maybe one day. A beautiful card was made in honor of this. Go check it out. Couch Time

Finally, a layout

Yep, still crafting away. Tropical Storm Lee has made his impact, but finally the sun is starting to appear. Meanwhile, I have been playing with my cricut for two days. I finally decided to make something other than a card. Can you believe it? I made this scrapbook layout hoping to enter it into a challenge, but I have to wait to be approved. Meanwhile, take a look and tell me what you think. I am really diggin' my Campin' Critters cartridge. Hope you enjoy.

My Time Made Easy - Pretty Palette #25

My next card was designed for the Pretty Pallete #25 challenge. I love the challenges that give you a color combination. It takes most of the guess work out of it. Hope you enjoy

Critter Sketch Challenge Blog

My oldest daughter wanted a personalized composition notebook, so I took advantage of the Critter Sketch Challenge this week and decorated her notebook. Here is the sketch we were to follow in our design.

Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #28

A quick sentiment card to enter into the Celebrate the occasion challenge. I really enjoyed this project. My card is so feminie looking compared to the other cards I have made recently. Hope you enjoy.

Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #28

I was just looking over this post and realized the paper that I used says cheap love nest. Hahaha. It is a bird themed pack of paper and I did cut the love birds off. That is too funny!

Can I have Smores?

Here is a fun little card I decided to do for the Just Us Girls 100th Challenge and the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge: a splash of colour. I used the Camping Critters cartridge for this one. I think he came out so cute. Hope you enjoy. (Sorry Cricut Cardz Challenge #90, I didn't realize until after I posted this that I had to use a card feature, so this one does not qualify)

CRICUT 360º - Challenge # 10 - Grandparents

I have had the pleasure of sitting in my craftroom all morning, thanks to Tropical Storm Lee. Our weekend is pretty much a washout. We are anticipating a lot of rain. This is just one of the many perks of living in South Louisiana. My family and I took a quick trip to Hobby Lobby last night to stock up on paper and things since we will be staying indoors most of the weekend. I recently purchased the Nifty Fifties Cartridge but hadn't had a chance until now. When I saw the Cricut 360 challenge, I thought this would be perfect. My mother has been working on a mural in a friends restaurant - The 50s Diner - and it inspired a few cards. I will be linking one to the challenge cause it just fits. Hope you enjoy. In honor of my children's grandparents.......
Mom's mural on Day 3. I can't wait to see the final result.

Mallory is feeling the "BUG"

My youngest daughter, Mallory,  has managed to confiscate yet another notebook that she has dedicated to her artwork. But, before it could be official, she wanted it decorated. I just got the Nifty Fifties cartridge in the mail but hadn't had a chance to use it yet so I dove in. Mallory loved the rocket ship the moment she saw it. It was a quick job, but came out so cute. Hope you enjoy.
